Wo, just pray.
Wondering what in the name of a title this is? Well, that's exactly how I feel. Just pray.
First things first, How are you? How have you been coping these days?
Last week, I almost picked up my pen to write a long rant to you all, but on a second thought, I held it.
I felt, "Aayah, you've only written to these people twice; no rant yet," so I stopped.
Have you been to the market lately?
Have you made inquiries about a product to purchase in recent times, saved towards it, and now that you're ready, it's twice the price? Have you? How did you feel?
I was in that situation last week, and after a lot of irony (sorry, I just had to use the word), it struck my mind that if we, the purchasers, are this tired, frustrated, and angry, what about those selling?
If I buy something for 1 naira, sell it for 2 naira, and then have time to restock, it's 3 naira. Isn't that a loss? (I'm not great at math; I could be wrong.).
But, that's the math I did. Now add that to having to convince Aayah (who wants to buy) that she's not being cheated, persuading her to buy because sales must be made. YAA DHUL-JALAAL.
This only means that even the business isn't a great option for increasing income; if not careful, debt would only be the thing that gets increased.
Sha, there's a solution, and like you guessed, DUA!
Maybe all of these are tests of our reliance on Allah and our trust in Him to feed us even though the income is not enough.
If I offered you a business with a sure increase in return on investment, would you rush it? There's only one of them that has always yielded greatly: your investment in Allah.
Give Sadaqah; check around you for those you're better than, and invest with your Lord through them. No debt in this one, just everlasting profit.
Seek lots of forgiveness. More than ever, now is the time to increase in seeking forgiveness, moisten your tongue with "AstaghfruLlah," and avoid sins as much as you can. Sins only take away the barakah from what we do.
Lastly, increase your reliance on Him. He feeds the birds in the sky, fishes in the river, and even the tiniest ants you don't get to see.
He took care of you from the womb when you're nothing; what makes you think He will abandon you now?
Remember, whatever has been apportioned to you as rizq, regardless of how expensive it gets, will not miss you.
And no man will leave this earth unless he exhausts the last drop of water that has been destined for him more than 500 years before he was born.
Keep seeking your provisions from Al-Ghaniy. All you need is with Him, and He will grant it to you.
Don't relent in your dua; your Lord sees, He hears, and He's ever merciful.
Did you read to this point? You're a real Geee
I want to read your answers to the questions I asked above, I already scheduled one of my breaks to reading your replies. Make it worth it.
May Allah keep us safe.
Till you hear from me again,
Your dua buddy,
Aayah.
Barakallahu feeh
Came at the right time. Jazakhumullah khayran 🥹
