HAVE YOU TRIED ISTIGHFAAR?
We often focus on the big requests – health, wealth, success in our Du'a – but overlook the short, simple, and effective solution:
Istighfaar
If the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who was forgiven his future sins and freed from the whispers of Shaytan, sought forgiveness at least 70 times a day, how much more should we prioritize seeking forgiveness?
Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, 'If anyone constantly seeks pardon (from Allah), Allah will appoint for him a way out of every distress and a relief from every anxiety, and will provide sustenance for him from where he expects not.'" [Abu Dawud]
Istighfaar brings barakah in our endeavors because when we seek forgiveness, we are asking Allah to protect us from the consequences of our actions and replace them with His mercy.
The beautiful part of this is that seeking forgiveness doesn't have to come with a long process. A remorseful and sincere heart with a word as short as "RabighfirLee" does the job. How merciful is our Lord, who has made this easier for His servants.
Beloved Slave of Ar-Rahman, return to your Lord through sincere repentance. May Allah forgive our sins and grant us His mercy.
Afterthought
Before Shaytan begins to play with your head by whispering that your trials are Allah's wrath upon you, remember:
1. He (Ta'ala) doesn't want you to be perfect; He is aware that we will commit sins, and we only have to seek forgiveness.
2. His mercy encompasses everything.
3. If Allah wants to punish you, He will punish you with something far more severe than "this". Read about those He punished in the past, Fira'wn, and the people of Luth
Beloved, His wrath is severe, and not as meager as we take it. May we be saved from it in both worlds.
See me when you see me.
Your Du'a Buddy,
Aayah.
Very true sis, jazakillah khairan!
