GRATITUDE

I had to check my substack for something and funny how the last line from the last letter was about "BEING GRATEFUL"

If you are on my WhatsApp list, you probably know why I think it is "funny", and if you're not, let me show you the last Wa-Mail I shared with my WhatsApp audience.

Some days ago, I had a discussion with a friend, and we realized that we'll never have everything we want or need, simply because our needs are an inherent part of our existence.

It's not because we're not content or anything, but as long as we exist in this world, we will always have needs. It's just a fundamental part of our lives; different stages of life come with different challenges and needs. (SEGE!)

Think about it: Remember when WAEC or JAMB was your biggest worry, or when getting married or having children seemed like the ultimate goal? Now that you have that particular thing you used to want or need, don't you have more to request?

Beloved Slave of Ar-Rahman,let's take a moment to reflect on our past du'a and desires that have been fulfilled, and express gratitude for what we have.

It is between Asr and Maghrib on a Friday, but let's do something different. Instead of asking for more, let's show gratitude for what we used to seek but now have،, and express gratitude to Ash-Shakur.

The beautiful part? Allah says 'If you are grateful, I will certainly give you more. But if you are ungrateful, my punishment is severe' (Quran 14:7). Win-Win right? You get more for saying AlhamduliLah.

May we not be found ungrateful. Do let me know when you do this task and share your experience with me, I want to hear!
